Any parents/guardians of students (and any prospective students) are more than welcome to come along to watch from the balcony overlooking the hall. Students have been practicing in preparation for this over the last few weeks with the instructors expecting tough choices in each category. One student will be chosen by the club instructors to receive a special trophy presented annually to the student who has shown the drive Sensei Harvey valued in students, including discipline, determination and mental strength. All students have been provided photo-release forms to obtain permission for their pictures to be published on the club's facebook page and this website, if anyone has any questions regarding this please speak with one of the instructors this evening. A quick update on the club from the last year, a number of gradings have taken place with many students successfully grading to their next grade, well done to all.
Also, a senior black belt grading was held in early July in association with our sister club the Irvine Takeda Karate club in which Sensei Harry Revie and Sensei Amit Patel graded successfully to 3rd Dan black belt bringing the total tally of 3rd Dans within the club to 3. A number of members of the club also took part in the annual North Ayrshire Sport Karate Association (NASKA) competition in Irvine late in 2014 where a total tally of 5 medals were won by both students and instructors alike. The club intends to hold a public demonstration on Tuesday the 7th October
which will be open to the public - particularly parents/guardian's of students. This will allow students to show what they have learned while being members of the club as well as allow parents/guardians to get a better understanding of Karate and ask questions they may have. The event is open to anyone who wishes to come along and further information will be provided next week. It is important that any students who will not be able to attend on the night can let one of the instructors know ASAP to allow the demonstration planning to go smoothly. If you have any questions please let us know either via the website/facebook or by speaking with one of the instructors in the class on Tuesday/Thursday. Club announcement -

Firstly the club will hold a senior grading for coloured belts on Thursday the 6th of March. The grading will be conducted by a panel of black belts from within the club. Students are expected to show their skill during the next few weeks to show they are ready for the grading. We would also like to take this time to welcome back Sensei Amit Patel following a spell of absence due to injury. The club have also launched a facebook page "Dalry Katsumushi Karate Club" so please like and share if you have a facebook profile. Just a short newsletter to begin the year with.
The Dalry Katsumushi Karate Club would like to wish all our club members and their families a very happy 2014. We are pleased to announce the launch of the club's own website in January of 2014 this will allow the club to grow and become more known in the general community. Over the next month or so the club will complete its first club grading of 2014 (an exact date will be given to students once agreed by instructors) however students must show that they are ready for this by the time of the grading in order to be considered. Before this all students will receive specific training by instructors in order to prepare them for the upcoming grading. Students are expected however to take this training and practice their grading syllabus on their own as well as in a class setting. Lastly we wish a speedy recovery to both Sensei Amit Patel & Sensei Harry Revie who are both off at the moment due to injury. Should you wish any further information regarding the club please get in touch. |
Newsletter:The club will publish a newsletter every few months detailing the progress of both the club and students and upcoming events. Archives
