Where can I buy a Karate suit?
A very common question asked by students and parents alike is "where can I buy a Karate suit?" below are a list of places we would recommend purchasing from should you wish to train with the club.
1. Many "Greaves Sports" stores stock Karate suits as well as belts as do some other sports clothing & equipment stockists.
2. Should you prefer to purchase online you can purchase on sites such as Amazon however we would recommend specialist websites such as http://www.black-eagle.co.uk/ or http://www.blitzsport.com/Disciplines/Karate-Suits most sites include a size guide to aid in choosing the correct size.
* We would strongly recommend buying your first suit in person and not online to ensure that the size is appropriate - please note that as standard most Karate suits come with a white belt so you do not need to purchase this separately.

How do I get further in Karate once I have started training?
The club has a syllabus which has been specifically designed to allow students to develop and build upon a basic knowledge of Karate developed in the first few months of joining the club with training given by club instructors.
Every 3-4 months we will have a club "Grading" essentially an examination presided over by a panel of Black belts. This where students will be asked to demonstrate the knowledge and training that they have learned at the grade/belt they hold through teaching and training given by the club's instructors. Only those who have shown that they are ready to take part in the grading will be graded. This decision is made my senior black belts.
Once the grading has been completed the grading panel will then make a decision once this is completed as to whether students have shown the skill & aptitude to progress to the next grade/belt. The club uses a coloured belt system to denote grade.

I've studied another martial art before, does this matter?
Not at all, in fact it will likely give you an advantage and you'll likely learn a lot faster. We would say however to remember that Karate (and even between different styles of karate) has a multitude of different techniques some may be familiar to you however done in a different way. So avoiding mixing Karate with another style is key to learning Karate.
